Joan Davis

Joan Davis has a dual career which began as a secondary educator and eventually working as a nurse. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of IL Champaign, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Lewis University and a Masers of Science in Public Health Nursing from the University of Illinois, Chicago. As a master-prepared nurse with over 20 years of wellness experience, she thought she knew about nutrition until her active, seemingly-healthy husband had a sudden heart attack. After that, her focus changed to plant based nutrition.

Joan earned a certificate in plant-based nutrition, began volunteering for Dr. Michael Greger’s popular NutritionFacts.org website, and became a board member of the Chicago area Plant Based Nutrition Movement. She now uses her teaching background and began developing programs that share the “why” and “how” of eating whole plant-based foods.

Paula Jablonski

Paula Jablonski is a native Chicagoan with a passion to help others live a life of less stress and better health. Paula is a Registered Nurse with over 35 years experience in healthcare, assisting ones, recovery from illness and disease. Realizing most of her patients conditions were influenced by lifestyle choices and health related habits, she decided to switch her focus to providing prevention and wellness programs 

Paula is an experienced trainer and coach: she is certified as an Integrative Nutritional Health Coach, Workplace Wellness Ambassador from Workplace Wellness Centre of Excellence, Licensed Stressmaster International Associate, with Dr. James Petersen, Certified Stress Mastery Educator approved and recognized by the American Institute of Stress, and HeartMath Certified Trainer 

Paula currently delivers innovative and engaging workplace health related workshops, seminars and public speaking in the Chicagoland area. Working with corporate wellness committees, she customizes her programs to meet the needs of the company or organization. Some of her most popular programs include Resilience Advantage, Stress Mastery, Nutrition, Sleep, Digital Detox, and Mindfulness.

Susan Kolon

Susan Kolon is a corporate wellness communications expert and health coach specializing in employee wellness education who joined D214 Community Education in 2021. She works to design and implement lifestyle management strategies for wellness programs that increase participation, engagement and satisfaction for overall health improvement and wellbeing.

Susan earned a Master of Science in Managerial Communications from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Michigan State University, where she was a member of the Women’s Swimming and Diving Team. She is a certified ACSM Group Exercise Instructor and Silver Sneakers Instructor, triathlete, golfer, walking enthusiast and yoga practitioner.

She is accredited by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Wellness Coach, is a National CDC Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach, and is a Faculty Member of The Wellness Council of America (WELCOA). An excellent presenter, facilitator and public speaker, she is equally comfortable articulating strategy to executives or program details to management and staff. As both a consultant and health coach, she uses her highly engaging, humorous approach to educate, motivate and celebrate her diverse slate of clients.

Roula Marinos

Roula Marinos Papamihail is a certified Functional Diagnostic Practitioner (FDN-P), certified holistic health coach and the founder of MyHealthySoma, an organization dedicated to helping individuals optimize their health. Her emphasis is on helping you discover the root cause of your discomfort and recover from digestive, hormone, energy and weight loss difficulties. Through self-ordered lab work, all-natural protocols, mental fitness and health empowering education, she not only helps individuals identify and resolve their health related problems, she also helps them instill the lifelong habits needed to do so.

Roula trained at Functional Diagnostic Nutrition, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. She’s the proud mom of 4 beautiful little boys and a full time homeschool mom.

Jill May

Jill May is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and the owner of Decide 2 Thrive, LLC. Her practice helps parents whose school age children struggle with emotional and mental health issues, have restricted or limited diets, and those parents who have special needs children. Using a variety of tools and techniques, Jill strives to help kids reach their full potential and truly thrive in life.

Jill is also a public speaker, educator, and has been with District 214 Community Education as an instructor since 2017. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, has a Health Coaching certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and passed the certification exam for Certified International Health Coach.

As the parent of two boys, both of whom have struggled with a variety of challenges, including ADHD, OCD, learning disabilities, anxiety and depression, as well as one who has a serious medical condition, Jill is uniquely qualified to work with, support, and empathize with these families.

In prior careers, Jill worked as an Electrical Engineer with Motorola, Inc. and as a technical recruiter with Motorola, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company.

After seeing the marked difference good nutrition made in her own sons' lives, she wanted to learn more and share that information with others, especially with parents of kids who are struggling.

Stefan Panzilius

Stefan has over 15 years of Chen Style Taiji training at Qiu Zhen Yi Center for Taiji Studies. He received training in first routine of Chen’s Taiji form, second routine of Chen’s Taiji form (called Pao Chui translated: Cannon Fist), Wuji Meditation, Single person Push Hands exercise, Two person Push Hands exercises and Silk-reeling exercises. He has conducted and taught many workshops and classes with D214 Community Education since 1999.

Janet Southall

Janet is a graduate of the three year program at EnergyTouch School of Advanced Healing and subsequently completed 4 Graduate Studies Certifications. She has been teaching with Community Education since 2017.

Through her education and experience she has been able to witness how EnergyTouch can complement traditional medical interventions by assisting with faster and more complete healing.
