Family Literacy for ESL
Community Education offers a variety of educational opportunities for families with children from birth to age 10. Family Literacy programs emphasize the relationship among adult education, early childhood education, parenting education and parent involvement, and future success in school. Adult ESL classes, the Catherine M. Lee Women's & Children's Center and the Prevention Initiative Program, for children from birth to age 3, all work with parents and their children together to build a strong foundation for learning.
Family Literacy: Parent/Child Interaction
No fee – Limited enrollment
The Family Literacy program is an educational class for children 2 to 5* years of age for morning classes and 3 to 10* years of age for evening classes. The child must enroll with a family member who is taking a class. The family member who enrolls the child must participate in a half-hour Parent/Child Activity during the child’s class.
*Children’s age must be before September 1st of the current school year.
