Arts

High School District 214 has a long and rich history of excellence in the arts, and our Community Education program extends that tradition to students of all ages.

Whether it’s the performing arts such as music classes and private music lessons, dance and theater; fine arts like drawing, painting and photography; or arts and crafts such as sewing, quilting and needlepoint, we’re sure to have something for you to grow as an artist!

Dance

Do you love to dance, or do you have two left feet and want to improve your skills for that next wedding or social event? Then let us help!
Our ballroom and Latin dance class will teach you the classics under the direction of Cheri Uricek, one of our most experienced instructors with over 40 years of teaching experience. Or if you’re looking for a more energetic and youthful approach to dance, try our Latin dance or line dance classes offered by professional dancer Elena Soultansaka.

Music and Theater

District 214 has a long history of excellence in music and theater instruction, and Community Education is proud to carry on that tradition.

Have you always wanted to learn guitar or ukulele? Michael Plantan offers a range of guitar and ukulele classes that’s sure to get you playing like a pro in no time.

We’re also very proud to offer a wonderful Community Theater experience through District 214 called The Theatre Lab. To learn more about The Theater Lab, please click here to visit The Theater Lab web page.

Did you play in band or orchestra back in high school and want to get back into it? D214 Community Education provides individual music lessons for our high school students during the day and after school, and now we’re rolling out this service to the rest of our residents.
