St. Patrick's Day at Notre Dame

Date: Thursday March 17, 2016

Cost: $101

St Patrick's Day morning it's off to South Bend and the University of Notre Dame to experience a little luck of the Irish!

Our luck starts as we visit one of South Bend’s treasures, the South Bend Chocolate Factory, makers of gourmet chocolates. Tour the factory, enjoy samples and take pictures at "Lucy & Ethel’s replica conveyor belt!"

Next up is a delightful lunch at Tippecanoe Place. Once the palatial mansion of Clement Studebaker, Tippecanoe Place has 40 rooms and 20 fireplaces! After an upscale lunch, stroll through the 1889 estate to see the incredible period architecture and craftsmanship, and to learn a little more about the legendary auto maker.

What better place to spend St. Patrick's Day than Notre Dame? Here we'll enjoy a great tour as we leisurely stroll through the picturesque campus of ivy-colored walls and gothic buildings. See landmarks including the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, opened in 1892 and in the shape of a cross; the main building with its famed Golden Dome topped by the golden statue of St. Mary; and the Hesburgh Library with its south wall mural "The World of Life," often called "Touchdown Jesus." At the Eck Visitor’s Center and Bookstore you have some free time to shop and explore.
