Join us for a day at Chicago's most historic hotel, the magnificent Palmer House Hilton. Go on an exclusive guided tour of this Chicago icon, led by the hotel's resident historian and supreme storyteller, Ken Price.  You’ll see the hotel's art-deco lobby, grand ballrooms and noteworthy guest rooms. You’ll also visit the hotel’s new museum, dedicated to the hotel's history and housing Bertha Potter’s rare china, vintage menus, books and photography as well as rare letters from Potter Palmer and other artifacts not usually open to the public. Hear the story of Palmer and his romance with the much younger Bertha and how he built the hotel as a wedding present, only to immediately rebuild it after the great Chicago fire.  Be mesmerized by captivating tales and photos of the stars who've performed in the opulent Empire Room including Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong.  Learn about the presidential stays from Grant to Roosevelt to Reagan. In the hotel's elegant Lockwood Restaurant, we enjoy a pre fixe luncheon of farm to table cuisine and "Bertha's famous brownie", invented for the 1893 Columbian Exposition.
