Join us to tour some of Chicago’s richest cultural and ethnic neighborhoods on the southwest side. Our local city stepon guide will take us on a narrated driving tour through such colorful and diverse neighborhoods as University Village, Little Italy, McKinley Park, Douglas Park, Heart of Chicago and the Illinois Medical District. See colorful Pilsen, a vibrant Latino community with its incredible murals where we visit the National Museum of Mexican Art. The museum boasts world class paintings and sculpture along with photographs that document the history of Hispanic culture in Chicago. On our driving tour we also see what was once the Central Manufacturing District, the first planned industrial district in the US. Tenants included Wrigley Gum, Ford, Pullman & Westinghouse. See the Leighton Criminal Courts building, built in 1929 and today the nation’s largest and busiest courthouses, home to some of America’s famous trials. Ride by the Cinespace Chicago Film Studios where Hollywood has come to Chicago! Opened in 2011 on the old Ryerson Steel Factory grounds, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD all film here as well as some scenes from the movie Transformers. A stop to tour Jane Addams’ Hull House is also included. While near Little Italy and the University of Illinois-Chicago campus, savor Italian cuisine as we dine at Tufano’s Vernon Park Tap
