Emerson Creek Tearoom and Lynfred Winery - A great combination to mingle, shop, have lunch and sip a glass of wine! Just outside of Oswego, IL, Emerson Creek Pottery and Tearoom is the perfect country setting to enjoy lunch in a one-of-a-kind Café that features their famous cobbler. Remnants such as the worn hitching post, original trusses and beams, and preserved stalls still are visible of the original horse stables, now converted into the Tea Room. After lunch, stroll over to the Emerson Creek Country View Shop where you will feel the charm of the converted century-old farmhouse, now filled with a wide array of handcrafted goods, decor, homemade candles, locally made honey and other unique finds. Leaving the peaceful serenity of Emerson Creek’s countryside behind, we top off the day at Lynfred Winery in Roselle. Though miles from the vineyards and orchards, Lynfred brings in grapes and fruits to create its award-winning wines. Enjoy an educational tour of the wine production area and a sampling of seven Lynfred wines. Hear how Fred and Lynn Koehler, in 1979, lovingly turned their hobby into Illinois’ first winery since Prohibition. Stained glass windows and oak wood floors adorn the tasting room of this century old building that is now Lynfred Winery. Perfect for everyone but especially for a girlfriends’ getaway!
