Amish Acres Arts & Crafts Festival
Amish Acres Arts & Crafts Festival Thursday, August 1, 2019 $104
Join CET as we attend the 57th annual Arts & Crafts Festival held at the peaceful and picturesque Amish Acres in Nappanee, IN. Recognized as one of the top arts and crafts festivals in America, the event brings to this northern Indiana historic farm a marketplace filled with the creations of artists and artisans from every corner of the country. This colorful Marketplace surrounds the Amish Acres pond and features a stream of entertainment on four stages, roving performers and food stands, all within the serene atmosphere of the historic Amish Acres Historic Farm. We’ll also have the chance to tour Amish Acres, known as the Stahly-Nissley-Kuhns farmstead. At this 125-year-old homestead you'll learn the whys and ways of the Amish as your guide directs you through the 12-room white frame house listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. We take a leisurely buggy ride around the 80-acre farm to experience the sights and sounds of a working farm. There are barnyard animals, gardens and an apple orchard. Maple syrup, apple butter and dried foods are produced here just as they were hundreds of years ago. You'll see how handstitched Amish quilts are created, and see demonstrations on soap and broom making, and candle dipping. While at the festival, enjoy the Award Winning Family Style Threshers Dinner served at your table under the hand-hewn timbers of the Century-Old Restaurant Barn at Amish Acres.
