The Fabulous Fair Oaks Farm
Date: Monday, April 25, 2016
We're "down on the farm" today as we visit fabulous Fair Oaks Farm to enjoy the best agri-tourism site in the Midwest!
This state of the art dairy farm is one of the largest in the United States and has expanded even more! Your visit to this 21st century farm will give you the opportunity to see how our dairy industry operates. The tour includes a bus tour of the farm including a drive right through a modern barn of Holstein cows to see how milk is produced. The other dairy adventures at the farm include a visit to the ultra modern Birthing Barn where an average of 80 calves are born each day, the theatrical presentation of "Manure Happens" in Theatre 4D, and the Fair Oaks Farms Cheese Factory, as the freshest cheeses are made right before your eyes. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase the cheeses, premium ice cream, and other dairy products. The Pig Adventure is the farm's newest addition. Visit the Farrowing Barn to watch live births and see state of the art exhibits at the Pork Education Center.
A great lunch is included right at Fair Oaks Farm at the new Farmhouse Restaurant built in the summer of 2014. Enjoy farm fresh food at this gorgeous farm to table restaurant featuring a wrap around porch and indoor/outdoor fireplace.
